Oftentimes, as a woman of color, I’ve cringed at the sight of an African American man with a Caucasian woman. Quickly I would come up with my own reasons as to why he was choosing to be with her. After encountering such a sight on numerous occasions it caused me to feel a certain type of way towards the mere thought of interracial relationships. I got tired of African American men claiming that those women were more supportive and less combative than women of color. “Those” women didn’t give them the grief that we did. “Those” women didn’t continuously argue with them about things they deemed petty. In essence “those” women weren’t as domineering and strong as they consider most African American women. That’s when my sista friends and I would get together and say “the only reason he is with her is because white girls put up with the crap we won’t.” But after watching so many high profile African American men go through public drama with women that were everything other than African American I’ve come to one conclusion – - White Girls Have This Game On Lock. Now understand when I say white girls I am now including women that are anything BUT African American.

After seeing some of the latest headlines involving black men and the scandals they get caught up in with “those” women I can’t help but finally admit that these women are the ones that are playing the game the best. They know exactly how to get these brothas where they want them and give up a whole lot less than sistas do while ending up with a whole lot more. If you believe the news reports Tiger was paying one mistress 20k a month. Add that to the fact that he did everything in his power to dispel the reports that Elin went “ghetto” on him and tried to beat him down with a golf club, I’d say those chicks have Tiger right where they want him. Former Baltimore Raven and Tennessee Titan Steve McNair died at the hands of his non African American mistress. Now I know a few of the African American girls that he was involved with and none of them were getting deposits into their bank account, nor are any of them riding around in cars that he CO-SIGNED for. Reggie Bush now has jump-offs posting video tours of his house, while he was with Kim K., on you tube. And that’s only the beginning. I’ve seen firsthand how these chicks get African American men to wine and dine them, treat them and their friends to extravagant vacations, go on thousand dollar shopping sprees, all the while milking these men for everything they are worth. At this point I can’t even be mad at them. In fact I am falling back and taking notes. The reality is that they are playing things better than we are. Now don’t get all self righteous and come back with “I don’t want to play games I want to be in a real and meaningful relationship.”

The truth is all relationships start out as a game. You trying to get to know him, him trying to get to know you, each of you playing your position until you know where the other is coming from. Sometimes it ends in happily ever after, oftentimes it does not. But from where I sit the white women are doing a much better job of getting their happily ever afters and even if it doesn’t end up in happily ever after they still walk away with more than the heart ache we tend to be left with. Maybe there is something to be said about how they play the game. Maybe a little less combat and a little more “understanding” will get us much further in the game. Maybe I need to check into understanding how to make a man feel more like a man and be a little more feminine. These are all tactics that seem to work pretty well for them. So instead of being pissy that so many black men choose women of non color maybe I’ll take a few plays from their playbook instead. Of course I’m going to add a little sista girl flavor to it but at least the basis for the plan will come from the “other” playbook. Lets see if my luck changes any.
